“ALL THAT GLITTERS, IS NOT GOLD”
My mother used to say,
There’s things that we’re attracted to,
As we travel on our way.
There’s people and some things, for sure.
That our attention does attract,
And we think that with this person or thing,
We’d be happier …. watch out for that!
‘Cause, sometimes when acquiring them,,
We soon come to find out,
The “glitter” that we thought was gold,
Lost its attraction, there’s no doubt.
For we don’t know who others are,
Until, with them, we spend some time,
For the “glitter” that first attracted us,
Can shortly loose its shine.
It’s best to take a long, hard look,
And lots of time assessing,
Before we find we jump right in,
Excited about possessing.
For what appeared to us at first,
The GLITTER OF THE GOLD
After time, and then a long, hard look,
We aren’t so eager to be sold.
